Chess242 Originals

Our own starter collection contains positions composed for teaching familiar chess patterns, with Chess242 hints and explanations. These exercises are maintained separately from imported puzzles. Difficulty numbers are estimates, not player ratings. We do not claim exclusive ownership of standard chess patterns or that a position has never appeared elsewhere.

Community puzzles

The training selection uses the Lichess puzzle database, released under CC0 1.0. These terms allow copying, modification and commercial reuse. Source records are retained internally; the learning experience presents one puzzle library. Lichess does not sponsor or endorse Chess242. This permission covers the puzzle database, not every Lichess asset.
